Rain and his gang come face to face with the Great Warlock……

Preparations
This is an exploration event. However, since it’s only a straight road upwards (bridge) with no treasure chest, there will not be any map guides. If you’re able to get lost on a straight road, you should probably quit the game.
There will be random encounters when you’re crossing the bridge and you are NOT ALLOWED to Escape from them.
Prepare: Tent, Man-Eater, Thunder-based Spells, Ether, Baraerora

Gilgamesh – Human LV – 60 HP – 350,000 MP – 600 |
Neutral – | |
Poison and Blind 0% | Immune to all |
- Full Break
- Man Eater
- Poison and Blind
- Defend when he uses Jump
- Easy fight
After defeating Gilgamesh for the first time, proceed to the next map and finish of the pack of thrash mobs. After killing off 3 packs of thrash mobs,
USE YOUR TENT
Round 2
![]() |
Gilgamesh – Human LV – 100 HP – 1,500,000 MP – 1500 |
Neutral – | |
Immune to all |
Skills | |
Whirlwind | Wind Elemental AOE Attack |
Upper Smash | Single target attack |
Desecrate | Single target attack with chance to Paralyze |
Missile | Single target attack |
Weapons Play | Remove negative Status |
Vendetta | Increase ATK and DEF |
X-Sword | AOE Attack |
Morphing Time! | Increase number of attack per turn |
- Cheer or Embolden is very important in this battle as Gilgamesh is able to deal out tons of physical damage.
- Full-Break is only useful during your attack turn as Gilgamesh will cast Weapons Play to remove any debuff on him. Alternatively, you can bring units with -Def/SPR skills instead such as Elza’s Ravaging Blow.
- Cast Baraerora to protect the team from Whirlwind.
- Dispel Revenge Mode as he will most probably cast X-Sword next turn.
- Man-Eater
Recommended Units
Party of 5 – for Mission (which can be done separately)
3 Attackers (including 1 breaker) – 1 Cecil – 1 Refia/Healer
Party of 6
3 Attackers – 1 Cecil – 1 Breaker – 1 Refia/Healer
Physical Attackers | |
CoD | Complete the Antenora trial and give her Thorned Mace to make her the ultimate Human Killing Machine. |
Elza | Probably the second best human killing machine in Global. If you’re using her for her Ravaging Blow, you can remove a Breaker unit and add in a Healer or Attacker. |
Lightning | Useful for clearing thrash mobs and decent damage. |
Others | Bartz, Gilgamesh, Delita |
Magic Attacker | |
Exdeath | Meteor. Better yet if you have Dual Cast |
Tank/Healer | |
Cecil | Tank + Heal + Buff |
Healer | |
Refia | Embolden and Full-Life makes her the best Healer choice |
Lenna | Cheer |
Krile | Dualcast Curaja |
Hey, did they make this event so you can’t run from mobs because that is all people were doing in the crystal tower to get away from those stupid dragons?
i believe you can´t run because is a bridge
If you played FFV, this is where Galuf rescues Bartz and gang from Exdeath’s castle before making a run for it. You can’t escape cause you already are in a way
what should I do to those Excalipoors?
same Q, hilarious as they are, can they be exchanged for something useful?
Maxwell was much harder then Gilgamesh….
“If you’re able to get lost on a straight road, you should probably quit the game.”
omg i get lost X”D lel
What this excalipoor for ???
just pulled Gilgamesh, think gonna max him and have Gilgamesh vs. the Gilgameshes :’D
party of 5 or less – Big bridge ELT – Gilgamesh , harder than maxwell fight with no one die x_x
ELT Team:
6* Luneth w/Ifrit
6* Cecil w/Golem
5* WoL w/Siren
6* Refia w/Shiva
6* CoD w/Diablos
Companion: 6* CoD w/Ifrit, Double Rising Phoenix
ALL MAXED LEVEL
Recommended Items: Turbo Ether, Ether, Tent, Antidote (Elixirs are good, too.)
-All Enemy Encounters: Hit All + Bladeblitz (time for chain hits) + Barrage x2 (used Emboldened at first, stopped after first 3 fights). Regular attacks if you need to clean up.
-Use any Ethers or Turbo Ethers to restore MP prior to Gilgamesh Round 1. Try to save one of each.
-Gilgamesh (First Round): Embolden, Full Break, Cut Through, Barrage x2, Provoke. Brings Gilga to half -> Jump. Defended, then Cut Through, Barrage x2
-Use tent before second Gilgamesh encounter.
-Gilgamesh (Second Round): Embolden, Full Break, Cut Through, Barrage x2, Provoke. Gilgamesh will remove debuffs every turn and do missile and wind attacks. You’ll want to heal with Cecil and Refia. Follow up with Full Break, Cut Through, and Barrage. Tried Call of Void and Perfect Void. Damage was okay, but I found barrage to be better. Cecil did fall during these attack rounds, so don’t be afraid to Full Revive if you can.
At 30% health, Gilgamesh will cast Vendetta. I tried Dispel, lost Full Break stats, and still got hit with X-Sword. Continue to heal and hit hard with attacks. Use Embolden again or Sacred Guard, followed by Cut Through (Raging Fist if MP is low) and Barrage. This fight took around 6 or 7 turns.
_____Team_____
Refia(6*) — Shiva(1*) — 330 spirit
WoL(5*) — Ramuh(1*) — 230 def, 150 spirit
CoD(6*) — Diabolos(1*) — 400 atk (Thorned Mace)
Elza(6*) — Ifrit(2*) — 504 atk
Cecil(6*) — Golem(1*) — 380 def, 150 spirit
_____Companion_____
CoD(6*) — Ifrit(2*) — ~500 atk (Dual Wield & Thorned Mace)
_____Strat_____
I beat Gilgamesh in 4 turns using this simple formula:
Turn 1: Embolden – Full Break – Ravaging Blow – Omni-veil – Focus – Barrage
Turn 2: Curaja – Full Break – Ravaging Blow – Barrage – Curaja – Barrage
Turn 3: Press Repeat
Turn 4: Press Repeat
_____Notes_____
CoD is the real MVP for this battle; He has a make-shift baraerora in omni-veil, and the man eater passives really pack a punch. A well equipped CoD (along with a breaker) could/should be your main source of damage, all other DPS units are expendable. I would advise considering removing Golem from your team so you can avoid the -50% wind debuff. I also included WoL as a 2nd cover tank because I lacked provoke.
Finally Beat Gilgamesh with only 5 unit non tm’s :
Lightning /esper golem use as support only, blood sword + enhancer
Refia / esper shiva spr 351
Cod 1 / esper ifrit with thorn mace atk 413
cod 2 / esper diabolos with lunar pestle atk 362
ramza / esper siren use as support 2
