Things to note:

  • Raise is mandatory in this fight
  • Only Main Body drops LB Crystals (Equip items to fill LB gauge such as Ignorance (Jack’s TM), Auto-Limit (CoD’s TM), Prodigy’s Goggles (Kelsus’s TM)
  • Right Arm can be killed for up to 3 times
  • Left Arm can be killed for up to 10 times
  • You don’t really need a Stat Breaker (only SPR break works) thus it’s better to bring another Healer or Attacker
  • You need Dispel to get rid of all the buffs from Right Arm
  • Avoid using Lightning Elemental Damage especially on Left Arm as it will detonate and most probably wipe your team
  • World Destroyer is it’s threshold skill and the way to “save” yourself from it is to use Water Elemental Attack on the threshold to reduce the damage by half. However, do note that it will retaliate with a powerful AOE skill (Electromagnetic Burst) when Water Elemental Attack is used on the 3rd time. This ability can be used on the same turn together with World Destroyer.
  • Other ways includes having Rikku’s Reraise up or buff yourself up with DEF/SPR and go Defensive Mode.

2 Ways to kill it:

Body > Right Arm > Left Arm

This can only be done if you deal more than 500,000 Damage per turn or the Right Arm will just out-heal your damage.

10x Left Arm > 3x Right Arm > Body

Choose this route if your team’s damage is low. However, make sure your team’s Defensive capabilities are high!

Strategy

Body Method:

  • First, lower Right Arm’s HP to as low as possible, enough for you to kill it in one turn.
  • Next, work on the Main body.
  • Keep 4 stats buff up and Rikku’s Damage mitigation (Hyper Nulall) up at all times.
  • Keep auto-revive up on your “decoy unit (highest attack)” at all times throughout the whole fight even after the body is dead. If your Decoy is Raised normally, the boss will go after the second highest attack unit instead.
  • When Aigaion hits 70%, it will prepare to cast his strongest skill, World Destroyer. The best way to tackle this is to use Rikku’s Limit Burst during the “charging” turn.
  • Aigaion will cast World Destroyer every 5 turns after it’s first cast so always be prepared to have your Rikku charged up.
  • Dispel when Right ARM buffs ATK/MAG. If you’re using Aileen, Dispel when it buffs DEF buff too
  • After Body is dead, quickly take down the Right Arm as it’ll deal tons of damage on your team. Remember to still keep auto-revive up on your Decoy!
  • When you’re left with the Left Arm, it’s just keeping auto-revive up and finishing it off.

Suggested Units:

Fryevia x 2 (or Aileen x2) – Since Aigaion only target units with the highest ATK stat, you can build your Fryevia as OP as possible with the MAG stat. – Machine Killer is highly recommended

Rikku – Her job is to keep her damage mitigation buff up at all times to reduce damage intake. Also, her Limit Burst is one of the best way to counter the “World Destroyer” attack from the boss. Make sure Rikku has got Auto-Limit or Ignorance Materia equipped to help generate LB Crystals

Tilith – None White Magic Healer (for Mission), MP giver and AOE Raise. Alternatively, you can bring Rem or Vanille as both of them have Auto-revive.

Decoy Role: Anyone with High ATK.

I suggest bringing Maxwell (Vargas and Elza if you have them) if you’re using Tilith as your main healer as Maxwell can cast Auto-revive on himself. However, if you do have Rem or Vanille in your team, you can just bring anyone along.

Support Role – This unit can be anyone that can, Regen MP, cast 4 stats buff and take on the role as the backup decoy.

Zargabaath, Delita, Lunera

Alternatively – You can use Tidus to help Rikku generate LB Crystals even more quickly so that her LB will almost always be up

My Team

  • Fryevia x 2 as main Damage dealer
  • Rikku for mitigation and aoe auto-revive. Make sure Rikku has got Auto-Limit or Ignorance Materia equipped to help generate LB Crystals
  • Tilith for Full-Heal and MP regen
  • Maxwell as decoy
  • Zargabaath for buffs, Regen MP, and chance to ignore fatal damage

Limbs Method:

  • This is supposedly the longer but safer method
  • You need to kill the Left Arm 10 times, Right Arm 3 times and lastly the Body in this order
  • Since this is going to be a very long fight, you NEED to have MP sustainability in your party.
  • Similar to the Body method, Keep auto-revive up on your “decoy unit (highest attack)” at all times throughout the whole fight even after the body is dead. If your Decoy is Raised normally, the boss will go after the second highest attack unit instead.
  • Dispel when Right ARM buffs ATK/MAG. If you’re using Aileen, Dispel when it buffs DEF buff too
  • Once the Left Arm has fully died, keep your Defensive Buffs up at all times as the damage will start to ramp up.
  • Every time you destroy the Right Arm, the main body will start hitting you more times.

Suggested Units:

2x Fryevia or Aileen – main Damage chainers

Maxwell (Vargas, Elza) – Decoy

Tilith – Healer, MP sustain

Rikku – Auto-revive, Dispel (Bushido)

Lunera, Ace, Bran – MP sustain Support
